Walter Lester Carr. [Born] 1859. Physician, author. For more than half a century a leading pediatrician of the city; clinical professor at Bellevue; author of textbook, “Practice of Pediatrics”; attending and consulting physician at several hospitals; able administrator of clinics; pioneer in the creation and maintenance of higher standards in the handling of milk; familiar figure of the Club, beloved by all.
