Harlow Brooks was graduated from the University of Michigan in 1895; he was a recognized consultant in many of the hospitals of this city. He served as surgeon to the Seventh Regiment and held the rank of captain when he died. During the World War, Dr. Brooks was active in making examinations of the soldiers with reference to heart conditions, and was a colonel in the Medical Corps when he retired from Army service. Brooks was a man of great physical energy, devoted to hunting and outdoor life in the Northwest; his collection of Indian relics and bead work was notable, and to this preoccupation was always added a genuine fondness for music.
