Century Memorial

Douw D. Williamson, whose recent death while absent in Europe has brought sorrow to his many friends in this city, was an old New Yorker who had passed an active life in business, with a stainless reputation and a success that gave evidence of his capacity.

He was of a retiring, quiet disposition, but was a man of great strength of character and unswerving adherence to principle, a most generous, self-sacrificing, high-minded man, as all who know the details of his private and business life will testify. He was thoroughly amiable and companionable, and found in his associations in The Century pleasures most congenial to a nature that could appreciate and enjoy all that refined and elevated in social life.
