Century Memorial

Charles Edward Tracy was the heir of an honored name, and his family associations gave additional distinction to the position that came to him by inheritance. He was a well-educated and successful lawyer with a high reputation for integrity, prominent in his professional and social life, and gave promise of a brilliant career; but an insidious disease, against which he contended unavailingly for several years, cut him down in his prime, and removed from our midst one whom we all respected as a most genial and cultivated gentleman.

Death has thinned the ranks of our artist-members to an unusual extent, and among those

“Who have gone before

To that unknown and silent shore”

are some who were most gifted and accomplished.
