Century Memorial
William Bispham was of Pennsylvania stock though he came to us from Michigan; he lived to be seventy-one and for twenty-nine years was a Centurion. With a well-trained mind he united the discipline of a soldier, having served during a considerable portion of the Civil War. He was an ardent churchman, long secretary and trustee of Trinity. He was active as member of three learned societies, four charitable organizations and five clubs, in one of which he was president, in another vice-president. A quiet gentleman, an amateur of the arts, especially the drama, a successful merchant, a genial and witty talker, he was a busy, useful man, a sturdy citizen, a power for good and a delightful companion.
