Century Memorial
Henry L. Pierson, who was one of our oldest members, having joined the Club in 1847, died at the ripe age of 87 [sic: 86] at the close of the year. He was for many years a resident of this city, where he was successful in business; was well-known and highly respected. Many years since he retired to his country seat at Ramapo, where he has since resided, in charge of large interests in which he was engaged. His life there was one of refinement and dignity. His name is perpetuated in a line of successful sons; and his memory is honored by us all.
