Century Memorial
Payson Merrill was one of our old-time practicing lawyers. He had been a member of the New York bar since 1868 and a member of this club for nearly half a century. Merrill was an ardent Yale man; the University, as the memory of his Civil-War-time student days recalled it, was like a picture from another world.
