Century Memorial
Thomas Hicks was at the time of his death one of the veterans of the Century, and was one of the best-known artists in the city. He was closely associated with the history of art in this country, and with the National Academy, and was for many years President of the Artists’ Fund Society. He was a picturesque figure in all our meetings; of a happy and companionable disposition, which attracted to him hosts of friends.
