Century Memorial

Edward H. Perkins was at the time of his death the President of the Importers’ and Traders’ Bank, a position he had filled since 1880, and in which he had won high reputation and influence. His cool and balanced judgment, his command not only of the practice of banking as it has so rapidly developed in this country, but of its underlying principles, united with his unswerving integrity and the justness of his native disposition to secure for him the respect and affection of his associates. He was for many years a member of the Clearing-House Committee, and for two terms its President. His business connections, apart from his own bank, were varied and important, and his social relations were in harmony with his solid and attractive character.
