Century Memorial
Graduate of Harvard and a doctor of philosophy of Columbia, Frederic E. Farrington was successively professor of education at the Universities of California and Texas, and at Columbia. Considerable residence in France and Germany gave him control of both languages, and enabled him to write concerning education in those countries with a soundness and readableness far greater than that of most books of the kind, which are usually superficial, inaccurate, and without real knowledge of the languages of the countries of which they treat.
