Arthur B. Emmons

Arthur B. Emmons, for many years resident of Newport and member of the Century since 1893, had been trained to the law, supplementing his law-school education with courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Politechniken at Stuttgart and the Universities of Heidelberg and Leipsic [Leipzig], from the latter of which he received in 1874 the doctor of philosophy degree. He had interested himself during recent years in social and educational affairs.
