Century Memorial
Thirty years in the field of New York public school instruction, followed by twenty years in the active presidency of Hunter College, made up the history of George Samler Davis. Dr. Davis held a distinguished place as the promoter of broad cultural education and of the “honor system” of college administration. His personality was genial, his interest in letters being supplemented by love of art and music and the amenities of life.
