Century Memorial
Benjamin P. Davis was one of the old-time business men of the city. Born in Brooklyn, sixty-three years ago, he was for many years of the firm of Davis, Hard & Rand, coffee importers, which he represented for some time at Rio Janeiro. He retired from active business in 1889, since which date he had travelled extensively. He was at one time a governor of the Union League Club, where he made his home when in this country, and was actively interested in the Long Island Historical Society.
