Century Memorial
Dr. William K. Otis, the son of our former member Dr. Fessenden N. Otis, was born in 1860, graduated at Columbia and at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and adopted the specialty of his father, that of genitourinary diseases, in which at the time of his death, in the prime of manhood, he had attained an honorable rank. He was a professor in the New York School of Clinical Medicine. Within his profession and outside of it he won a host of warm friends by his unfailing kindness, his genial humor, his varied social talents. On the lighter side of club life his contributions at the festivities of Twelfth Night will long be remembered for their brilliancy and for their exquisite adaptation to the joyous spirit of the occasion, while in everyday intercourse his sympathetic courtesy and the play of his alert and sparkling mind made him a delightful companion.
