Century Memorial
Charles Coleman Nadal was admitted to the Century twenty-nine years after his brother, Ehrman Syme Nadal, whose charming literary essays have not yet been forgotten by his surviving fellow-clubmen. He was a member of the New York bar, but was constantly interested in and associated with the literary activities of the Macmillan Company and in improving political conditions in New York City, being associated in the founding of the so-called “Good Government Clubs” and the “Citizen’s Union.” He and his close friend Walter Lambert were often to be seen together on the Ardsley Country Club golf course. He enjoyed the friendly intimacies of the billiard room, and was a constant though quiet participant in the conversational groups of the pre-war Saturday evening gatherings at the Century.
