Century Memorial
J. Montgomery Hare was another of the fast-diminishing survivors of the army roster in the Civil War. He was for more than half a century a conspicuous figure in the Eastern fire insurance industry, of whose board of supervisors he was for a considerable period president. His membership in the Century had been of long tenure; he entered the club thirty-three years ago.
