As Dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, William Mercer Grosvenor closed an ardent and useful life spent in the priesthood of the Episcopal Church. For sixteen years he was the beloved rector of the Church of the Incarnation. He was a trustee of Williams College, Barnard College, the General Theological Seminary, and other institutions of learning or piety. His life, consecrated ex officio to charity and religion, fulfilled its service in devotion to his high calling.
