Century Memorial
Carl August de Gersdorff. [Born] 1865. Lawyer. For more than 50 years practitioner at the New York Bar, becoming the senior partner in one of the city’s leading firms; a master negotiator, he became a specialist in railroad finance, playing an important role in a number of major reorganizations; Bostonian by birth and upbringing, he was the calm, restraining influence of his firm, a figure of quiet dignity always.
