John Van Etten Westfall. [Born] 1872. Mathematician, actuary. From teaching mathematics in the University of Iowa, he turned to life insurance, serving as vice-president of the Equitable and Penn Mutual companies; one of the Club’s most faithful members where his six feet seven of height made him a landmark in what he called his second home.
