Century Memorial
Henry Alfred Todd had been a member of the Century for nearly thirty years, during which time he was gaining wide repute as professor of Romance languages at Columbia. Professor Todd had studied at Paris, Madrid, Rome and Berlin and had taught at Johns Hopkins and Leland Stanford before he took up his New York work. He stood in the front rank of philological achievement, and was always closely identified with organizations to promote literary and artistic relations between the United States and the Latin countries.
