Charles Sooysmith was likewise an able engineer, noted for his resourcefulness and invention. He designed a number of important and difficult bridges, and employed successfully the pneumatic caisson method in the foundations of heavy buildings. This gentle, interested, and imaginative man was one whom we were glad to be with and listen to. He was a good Centurian, serving the Association with excellent discrimination on the Committee of Admissions.
