Century Memorial
Hewlett Scudder, for half a century a successful New York merchant, gave his time and energies to charitable work as well as to the administration of important trusts in the business world. A founder of the Merchants’ Club; a high officer in the Union Square Savings Bank and the New York Life, he was equally conspicuous and useful in the work of the Demilt Dispensary and the Institution for the Deaf and Dumb.
