Century Memorial
Robert Percy Alden was sixty-one years old and had been an associate for twenty-seven years. The illustrious name he inherited by direct descent from his Mayflower ancestor he bore without reproach, indeed with distinction. His sire was an army officer of culture and the son was a graduate of Yale and Columbia. His life was of the quiet, unobtrusive sort, but he had in a high degree the qualities of the amateur and connoisseur. His friendships were close-knit but he was companionable with all.
