Century Memorial
William Douglas Mackenzie, who had been an out-of-town member of the Century for eighteen years, was an adopted son of America and of American educational institutions. He was a distinguished Scotch theologian, educated at the University of Edinburgh, and came to this country more than forty years ago to be professor of Systematic Theology at Chicago. Subsequently he became president of the Hartford Theological Seminary and held that office for twenty-six years until his retirement in 1930. Dr. Mackenzie was recipient of many degrees conferred by universities in this country and abroad. He was a good Centurion.
