Century Memorial
Gerald Livingston Hoyt was one of the finer products of the New York Stock Exchange; a broker whose chosen duty was the advising of serious investors rather than the attracting of superficial speculators; member of an old and conservative commission house whose attitude towards the investment market he shared. Partner afterward in a banking house and director in an important industrial corporation, he never wholly relinquished his financial activities during fifty-four years of business life.
