Century Memorial
Robert Hartshorne was not one of the older members of the Century, having been admitted in 1915, but his recognized qualities as collector and club associate had led to his choice for the Board of Management a year ago, a place which, as fate decreed, he was permitted to fill only at one meeting. Hartshorne was reserved in manner, yet altogether clubable in his instincts and genial in his personal associations. As a collector of rare works of literature and art, he was notable even in our membership, and his collections were supplemented by his own great learning in both fields.
