Century Memorial
Warren Norton Goddard was a graduate of Harvard in the class of 1879, and at the time of his death senior member of the firm founded by his father, Joseph Warren Goddard, well known and respected here, to whose memory the son was devoted and whose high example he followed.
He was distinguished for his energy and integrity; and these qualities, with his broadmindedness and sagacity, secured him success and honor in the business world. He was generous, self-sacrificing and tireless in charitable enterprises, giving largely of his time and means to the Friendly Aid Parish House of All Souls’ Church, which he mainly supported, and to the Boys’ Club of St. Mark’s Place. The staff and employés of his firm were his devoted friends, and a great company of the worthy poor have substantial reasons for cherishing his memory. Kindly, genial and unselfish, he went his way, leaving blessings in his path; for loving and being loved made a large part of the life of this noble-hearted, deeply religious man.
