William Gilbert Davies was graduated from Trinity College in 1860. His alma mater gave him the degree of LL.D. in 1906. He studied afterward at Leipzig and was admitted to the bar in 1863. He served with the National Guard, New York, 22d Regiment, during the Gettysburg campaign. He was active in the more general interests of his profession, promoting the organization of the Medical Legal Society and writing many papers on the subject of Life Insurance Law. He was a member of a long list of associations, societies, and clubs. He was a good, high-minded, and kindly man.
