Century Memorial
The Rev. Dr. Joseph H. Coit, born in Delaware in 1831, and graduated from St. James College, Maryland, was engaged in educational work for very many years, first at St. James College, then for a brief period at Hobart College, and from 1865 at the famous St. Paul’s School, at Concord, N. H., of which the founder was his brother, whom he succeeded as rector in 1895. In this sustained labor, performed with the utmost fidelity and with rare skill and intelligence, Dr. Coit made his influence deeply and tenderly felt by thousands of “St. Paul’s boys” in all parts of the Union.
