On the very eve of this annual meeting of the Century comes the news of the death of Wallace Clement Sabine, whose own contribution to the war could be imagined by all who listened to his address on “Aviation and the War” to the Club members, just a year ago. Professor Sabine had been head of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy at Harvard University during many years. It was his instinctive act to place his knowledge and experience at the service of the Government’s Aircraft Board when his country went to war.
