Evelyn Pierrepont Roberts was the son of General Benjamin Stone Roberts, and was born at Fort Leavenworth on Christmas Day, 1848. He was graduated from Yale in 1870, and devoted himself to engineering. Mr. Roberts was successful in his profession, and maintained a large variety of interests beyond it, being an enthusiastic sportsman, and very active in social and public affairs. He was a non-resident member of the Century from the year 1905.
