Charles Clifford Barrows was a noted surgeon, of Southern stock. When a young man he served as assistant army surgeon in the Indian campaigns of General Crook. Later he devoted himself to gynecology and obstetrics, teaching and practicing these branches in a number of medical colleges and hospitals in this city and at Cornell University. He was president of the Bellevue Hospital Alumni and of the New York Clinical Society.
