Alfred Miller Hoyt, a native of New York, was a graduate of Kenyon College, Ohio, and passed the early years of his successful business career in that State and in the lumber regions of Michigan. Removing to this city, he engaged in banking, from the active pursuit of which he retired some years since, remaining as Director in a number of banks, trust companies, and like institutions. The range of his social and club relations was wide, including the Union League Club, of which he was one of the original members; the Grolier, National Arts, the Riding, the Ardsley, the Seawanhaka, and associations devoted to science and art.
