Century Memorial
Charles Edmund Merrill was another of our older publishers, whose work in the field of educational literature was pursued during a consecutive period approaching that of his fellow-craftsmen Scribner, Holt and Putnam. His term of membership in the Century did not equal the 58 consecutive years of Putnam and Holt, or Scribner’s 51; but his name had been on our roll during nearly 40 years.
